So ESPN had its lowest primetime viewership avg since 2008 and was still most-watched of ALL cable nets in 2015 (not just sports). By a lot.

It's not clear what this means. But it could be related to the cord cutting. Viewership and Subscribers are two entirely different things. I can't imagine sports being less popular. Maybe some of the ESPN viewers now go over to Fox, NBC, and CBS sports networks. Their viewers are much smaller, but perhaps they are peeling off ESPN.
